Nail In The Fence

Make sure you read all the way down to the last sentence.

There once was a little boy who had a bad temper. His Father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence.

The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence. Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all.

He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper.

The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone.

The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said, 'You

have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. But It won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry, the wound will still be there. A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one. Remember that friends are very rare jewels, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they share words of praise and they always want to open their hearts to us.'

Eating Fruits

It's long but very informative

We all think eating fruits means just buying fruits, cutting it and just popping it into our mouths. It's not as easy as you think.. It's important to know how and when to eat.

What is the correct way of eating fruits?

IT MEANS NOT EATING FRUITS AFTER YOUR MEALS! FRUITS SHOULD BE EATEN ON AN EMPTY STOMACH.

If you eat fruit like that, it will play a major role to detoxify your system, supplying you with a great deal of energy for weight loss and other life activities.

FRUIT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOOD. Let's say you eat two slices of bread and then a slice of fruit. The slice of fruit is ready to go straight through the stomach into the intestines, but it is prevented from doing so.

In the meantime the whole meal rots and ferments and turns to acid. The minute the fruit comes into contact with the food in the stomach and digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins to spoil.

So please eat your fruits on an empty stomach or before your meals! You have heard people complaining - every time I eat watermelon I burp, when I eat durian my stomach bloats up, when I eat a banana I feel like running to the toilet etc - actually all this will not arise if you eat the fruit on an empty stomach. The fruit mixes with the putrefying other food and produces gas and hence you will bloat!

Graying hair, balding, nervous outburst, and dark circles under the eyes all these will not happen if you take fruits on an empty stomach..

There is no such thing as some fruits, like orange and lemon are acidic, because all fruits become alkaline in our body, according to Dr. Herbert Shelton who did research on this matter. If you have mastered the correct way of eating fruits, you have the Secret of beauty, longevity, health, energy, happiness and normal weight.

When you need to drink fruit juice - drink only fresh fruit juice, NOT from the cans. Don't even drink juice that has been heated up. Don't eat cooked fruits because you don't get the nutrients at all. You only get to taste. Cooking destroys all the vitamins.

But eating a whole fruit is better than drinking the juice. If you should drink the juice, drink it mouthful by mouthful slowly, because you must let it mix with your saliva before swallowing it. You can go on a 3-day fruit fast to cleanse your body. Just eat fruits and drink fruit juice throughout the 3 days and you will be surprised when your friends tell you how radiant you look!

KIWI: Tiny but mighty. This is a good source of potassium, magnesium, vitamin E & fiber. Its vitamin C content is twice that of an orange.

APPLE: An apple a day keeps the doctor away? Although an apple has a low vitamin C content, it has antioxidants & flavonoids which enhances the activity of vitamin C thereby helping to lower the risks of colon cancer, heart attack & stroke.

STRAWBERRY: Protective Fruit. Strawberries have the highest total antioxidant power among major fruits & protect the body from cancer-causing, blood vessel-clogging free radicals.

ORANGE : Sweetest medicine. Taking 2-4 oranges a day may help keep colds away, lower cholesterol, prevent & dissolve kidney stones as well as lessens the risk of colon cancer.

WATERMELON: Coolest thirst quencher. Composed of 92% water, it is also packed with a giant dose of glutathione, which helps boost our immune system. They are also a key source of lycopene - the cancer fighting oxidant. Other nutrients found in watermelon are vitamin C & Potassium.

GUAVA & PAPAYA: Top awards for vitamin C. They are the clear winners for their high vitamin C content. Guava is also rich in fiber, which helps prevent constipation. Papaya is rich in carotene; this is good for your eyes.

Drinking Cold water after a meal = Cancer! Can you believe this? For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup, warm water after a meal.

A serious note about heart attacks HEART ATTACK PROCEDURE': (THIS IS NOT A JOKE!) Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.. You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack . Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms.. Sixty percent of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know the better chance we could survive...

Underwear Dust

BEWARE OF THAT UNDERWEAR DUST!!!!!!

One evening a husband, thinking he was being funny, said to his wife, 'Perhaps we should start washing your clothes in 'Slim Fast'. Maybe it would take a few inches off of your butt!'

His wife was not amused, and decided that she simply couldn't let such a comment go unrewarded.

The next morning the husband took a pair of underwear out of his drawer. 'What the heck is this?' he said to himself as a little 'dust' cloud appeared when he shook them out.

'April', he hollered into the bathroom, 'Why did you put talcum powder in my underwear?'

She replied with a snicker. 'It's not talcum powder; it's 'Miracle Grow'!!!!! !
You guys just never learn, do not tick off the woman.

God Still Speaks‏

This will give you the chills........

GOOD chills.

A young man had been to Wednesday Night Bible Study.

The Pastor had shared about listening to God and obeying the Lord's voice

The young man couldn't help but wonder, 'Does God still speak to people?'

After service, he went out with some friends for coffee and pie and they discussed the message.
Several different ones talked about how God had led them in different ways.

It was about ten o'clock when the young man started
driving home. Sitting in his car, he just began to pray, 'God...If you still speak to people, speak to me. I will listen. I will do my best to obey.'

As he drove down the main street of his town, he had the strangest thought to stop and buy a gallon of milk.

He shook his head and said out loud, 'God is that you?' He didn't get a reply and started on toward home.

But again, the thought, buy a gallon of milk.

The young man thought about Samuel and how he didn't recognize the voice of God, and how little Samuel ran to Eli.

'Okay, God, in case that is you, I will buy the milk.' It didn't seem like too hard a test of obedience. He could always use the milk. He stopped and purchased the gallon of milk and started off toward home.

As he passed Seventh Street, he again felt the urge, 'Turn Down that street.'

This is crazy he thought, and drove on past the intersection.

Again, he felt that he should turn down Seventh Street.

At the next intersection, he turned back and headed down Seventh.

Half jokingly, he said out loud,

'Okay, God, I will.'

He drove several blocks, when suddenly, he felt like he should stop. He pulled over to the curb and looked around. He was in a semi- commercial area of town. It wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst of neighborhoods either.
The businesses were closed and most of the houses looked dark like the people were already in bed.

Again, he sensed something! , 'Go and give the milk to the people in the house across the street.' The young man looked at the house. It was dark and it looked like the people were either gone or they were already asleep. He started to open the door and then sat back in the car seat.

'Lord, this is insane. Those people are asleep and if I wake them up, they are going to be mad and I will look stupid.' Again, he felt like he should go and give the milk.

Finally, he opened the door, 'Okay God, if this is you, I will go to the door and I will give them the milk. If you want me to look like a crazy person, okay. I want to be obedient. I guess that will count for something, but if they don't answer right away, I am out of here.'

He walked across the street and rang the bell. He could hear some noise inside. A man's voice! yelled out, 'Who is it? What do you want?' Then the door opened before the young man could get away.

The man was standing there in his jeans and T-shirt. He looked like he just got out of bed. He had a strange look on his face and he didn't seem too happy to have some stranger standing on his doorstep. 'What is it?'

The young man thrust out the gallon of milk, 'Here, I brought this to you.' The man took the milk and rushed down a hallway.

Then from down the hall came a woman carrying the milk! toward the kitchen. The man was following her holding a baby. The baby was crying. The man had tears streaming down his face.

The man began speaking and half cryi ng, 'We were just praying. We had some big bills this month and we ran out of money. We didn't have any milk for our baby. I was just praying and asking God to show me how to get some milk.'

His wife in the kitchen yelled out, 'I asked him to send an Angel with some. Are you an Angel?'

The young man reached into his wallet and pulled out all the money he had on him and put in the man's hand. He turned and walked back toward his car and the tears were streaming down his face.

He knew that God still answers prayers.

Police at ur door

An Old Jamaican man lived alone in the country. He wanted to dig his Yellow Yam and Sweet Potato Garden , but it was very hard work as the ground was hard. His only son, Vincent, who used to help him, was in prison. The old man wrote a letter to his son and described his predicament:

Dear Vincent, I am feeling pretty badly because it looks like I won't be able to plant my Yellow Yam and Sweet Potato Garden this year. I'm just getting too old to be digging up a garden plot. I know if you were here my troubles would be over. I know you would be happy to dig the plot for me....Love, Dad

A few days later he received a letter from his son:

Dear Dad,

Don't dig up that garden. That's where I buried the bodies.

Love, Vinnie

At 4 a.m. The next morning, CID agents and local police arrived and dug up the entire area without finding any bodies. They apologized to the old man and left. That same day the old man received another letter from his son:

Dear Dad, Go ahead and plant

the yams and potatoes now the ground has been dug up. That's the best I can do under these circumstances

Joke Of The Day

Seems an elderly gentleman had serious hearing problems for a number of years.
He went to the doctor and the doctor was able to have him fitted for a set of hearing aids that allowed the gentleman to hear 100%. The elderly gentleman went back in a month to the doctor and the doctor said, "Your hearing is perfect. Your family must be really pleased you can hear again."
To which the gentleman said, "Oh, I haven't told my family yet. I just sit around and listen to the conversations. I've changed my will five times!"

THE BUS RIDE

Several years ago, a preacher from out-of-state accepted a call to a church in Houston , Texas .

Some weeks after he arrived, he had an occasion to ride the bus from his home to the downtown area.

When he sat down, he discovered that the driver had accidentally given him a quarter too much change.
As he considered what to do, he thought to himself, 'You'd better give the quarter back.
It would be wrong to keep it.' Then he thought, 'Oh, forget it, it's only a quarter.
Who would worry about this little amount?
Anyway, the bus company gets too much fare; they will never miss it.
Accept it as a gift from God and keep quiet.'

When his stop came, he paused momentarily at the door, then he handed the quarter to the driver and said, 'Here, you gave me too much change.'

The driver, with a smile, replied, 'Aren' t you the new preacher in town?
I have been thinking a lot lately about going somewhere to worship.
I just wanted to see what you would do if I gave you too much change.
I'll see you at church on Sunday.'

When the preacher stepped off of the bus, he literally grabbed the nearest light pole, held on, and said, 'Oh God, I almost sold your Son for a quarter.'

Our lives are the only Bible some people will ever read.
This is a really scary example of how much people watch us as Christians and will put us to the test!
Always be on guard -- and remember -- You carry the name of Christ on your shoulders when you call yourself 'Christian.'

Watch your thoughts; they become words.

Watch your words; they become actions.

Watch your actions; they become habits.

Watch your habits; they become character.

Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

I'm glad a friend forwarded to me as a reminder. God bless you; I hope you are having a wonderful day!

A little laughter goes a long way

What's absolutely free, has no known negative side effects and boasts health benefits ranging from boosting your immune system to reducing your food cravings? The punch line: laughter!

Need a chuckle? Sometimes, all it takes is someone else to get the giggles going.

Research shows that laughing increases your threshold for pain, lowers blood pressure, reduces stress hormones, aids in the healing process, and triggers the release of endorphins - your body's natural painkillers. A good chuckle can even be contagious, elevating the mood of those around you and enhancing the quality of your social interactions.

In fact, multinational corporations are now in on the joke, using laugh therapy to relieve employee stress and help them lead more happy and productive lives. Here's what the buzz is all about and how you can incorporate laugh therapy into your everyday life:

Tip #1: Have your morning coffee with laughter

Wake up every morning feeling grumpy? Watch 30 minutes of your favourite comedy show before heading to work. After all, a Seinfeld rerun or Three Stooges oldie is far more likely to put a smile on your face than the morning headlines.

Tip #2: Call on your friends

Surround yourself with things that make you laugh — like your closest friends! Round up a group of buddies and head out to a comedy club for an evening of infectious chuckles and funny memories.

Tip #3: Check your local listings

Action flicks offer plenty of suspense but romantic comedies - whether in theatres or on a video store shelf - always deliver laughs.

Tip #4: Turn lemons into lemonade

Whether you've had a terrible week at work or experienced a big blowout with your significant other, it's possible to find humour in life's toughest moments if you look hard enough. Consider what comical spin you might put on a difficult event when relaying it to friends and family.

Tip #5: Make-believe mirth

You don't have to bust a gut to reap the therapeutic rewards of laughter. Even smiling when you don't feel like it can alter your mood and relax your body. So smile more and fake laughter even when you feel like frowning.

Tip #6: Open your ears

That long ride to your in-laws’ house promises to be tortuous so add levity to your journey by popping in your favourite comedy CD. And commuting to work on the subway, train or bus is a lot easier to take if you’ve loaded your MP3 player with something that tickles your funny bone. (Warning: expect funny looks from your fellow commuters who want to be in on the joke.) Timeless classics include Rodney Dangerfield’s No Respect and Jerry Seinfeld’s I’m Telling You for the Last Time.

Tip #7: Be creative

Express your feelings through art. Draw an amusing caricature of that store clerk who spoke to you rudely. Or create a comic strip detailing last night's parking ticket fiasco. And don't worry about becoming the next Picasso. Putting paintbrush to paper is all about finding your funny bone - not fame.

Get Motivated

True success comes from staying positive and focused, day after day, month after month. Yet that's a real challenge in today's noisy, complicated, fast-paced world.

Sometimes we forget the really important things in life

Saying Grace In A Restaurant

Last week, I took my children to a restaurant. My six-year-old son asked if he could say grace.

As we bowed our heads he said, "God is good, God is great. Thank you for the food, and I would even thank you more if Mom gets u s ice cream for dessert. And Liberty and justice for all! Amen!"

Along with the laughter from the other customers nearby, I heard a woman remark, "That's what's wrong with this country. Kids today don't even know how to pray. Asking God for ice cream! Why, I never!"

Hearing this, my son burst into tears and asked me, "Did I do it wrong? Is God mad at me?"

As I held him and assured him that he had done a terrific job, and God was certainly not mad at him, an elderly gentleman approached the table.
He winked at my son and said, "I happen to know that God thought that was a great prayer."
"Really?" my son asked.
"Cross my heart," the man replied.
Then, in a theatrical whisper, he added (indicating the woman whose remark had started this whole thing), "Too bad she never asks God for ice cream. A little ice cream is good for the soul sometimes."

Naturally, I bought my kids ice cream at the end of the meal. My son stared at his for a moment, and then did something I will remember the rest of my life.
He picked up his sundae and, without a word, walked over and placed it in front of the woman. With a big smile he told her, "Here, this is for you. Ice cream is good for the soul sometimes; and my soul is good already."

Swine Flu Protection (H1N1)

We are getting all types of warning about the flu thing going on. They are telling us that pharmacies have already run out of masks, and that masks are an almost guaranteed protection against the flu. So they are showing us how to make homemade masks.

Here are 2 versions you might want to consider.

When you deplete the conventional face masks.

SWINE FLU a.k.a. H1N1 VIRUS

Meedan Event

Egypt to kill all pigs, will that protect it from swine flu?

The Egyptian authorities announced that they will slaughter all pigs in Egypt as a swine flu precaution, a move considered ineffective by many experts.

The virus can be transmitted from one person to the other now, and pigs are no longer the source of danger. That was the point that many health officials cited to criticize the decision.

Some Egyptian bloggers considered the move a governmental crackdown on the Copts, a Christian minority in Egypt, the main breeders of pigs in Egypt.

Today I only get hunat eighty? Why it change?'

The teller shrugged his shoulders and said,'Fluctuations.'

The Asian lady says, 'Fluc you white people too!'

The Bright Red Hat

The glance of a female in the mirror....

At 2 she looks into the mirror and sees a princess.

At 7, she sees herself as the beautiful Cinderella or sleeping beauty.

At 20 years of age, she sees herself as, too skinny, too short, too tall, hair too curly, or too straight. But.....she goes out anyways.

At 40, she stills sees herself as too fat, too skinny, too short, too tall, hair too curly, or too straight.

But she thinks "Hey, I'm alive! OH WELL" and goes out anyhow.

At 50, she sees herself in the mirror and thinks "finally... I am me". She goes out and thinks "I'm even better".

At 60, she looks at herself and think of all the women that cannot seem to look at themselves in the mirror...

She goes out and conquers the world!

At 70 years of age, she seem herself and her worth, her wisdom, happiness and recognizes her ability. She goes out and enjoys life to the fullest.

At 80.....she does not preoccupy herself with looking in the mirror. She simply puts on her bright red hat and goes and enjoys all the fun that life has to offer.

So go out and share this message to all women: Lets put on our bright red hat on sooner!

Let us be more mindful of opening our hearts rather than our appearance.

Let us enjoy each and every moment and share those with the ones we love.

Men Never Listen

In a Chicago hospital, a gentleman had made several attempts to get into the men's restroom, but it had always been occupied.

A nurse noticed his predicament.

'Sir,' she said 'You may use the ladies' room if you promise not to touch any of the buttons on the wall.'

He did what he needed to, and as he sat there he noticed the buttons he had promised not to touch.

Each button was identified by letters: WW , WA , PP, and a red one labeled ATR.

Who would know if he touched them?

He couldn't resist. He pushed WW. Warm water was sprayed gently upon his bottom.
'What a nice feeling,' he thought. 'Mens' restrooms don't have nice things like this.'

Anticipating greater pleasure, he pushed the WA button. Warm air replaced the warm water, gently drying his underside.

When this stopped, he pushed the PP button. A large powder puff caressed his bottom adding a fragile scent of spring flowers to this unbelievable pleasure. The ladies' restroom was more than a restroom; it is a tender, loving pleasure treat.

When the powder puff completed its pleasure, he couldn't wait to push the ATR button which he knew would be supreme ecstasy.

Next thing he knew he opened his eyes. He was in a hospital bed, and a nurse was staring down at him.

'What happened?' he exclaimed. 'The last thing I remember was pushing the ATR button'

'The button ATR is an Automatic Tampon Remover. Your penis is under your pillow.'

Judging Another Person

I would often say never punish a child in the state of anger. But disciplining my child is that punishing? Let's say that I have a few friends over for dinner on Sunday evening and during the course of the evening my younger son start acting up. I try patiently discipline him, distract him....then I just lost it and punished him.

Would you think that I am an hypocrite? Hypocrite say something and do not put into action because they never believe it in the first place. The fact that I lost my temper Sunday evening does not make me an hypocrite; It make me a human being who is trying discipline my child and trying to live my believe the best I can.

It's OK To Fail

Thomas Edison was an inquisitive child at an early age. He attended school for only three months where the teacher labeled him a slow learner, quite possibly because of his early hearing problems. His mother removed him from school and decided to teach him at home. She encouraged him to read and he quickly developed a great interest in Science, especially chemistry. At the age of 10, he set up a small laboratory in the basement of the family home. At the age of 20, Edison set up a laboratory in Menlo Park, New Jersey where he spent his time as a full-time inventor.

Within two years, he had 40 different projects going and was applying for over 400 patents a year. In 1887, he boldly announced to the world that he would invent an inexpensive electric light that would replace the gas light. Often ridiculed, Edison tried over ten thousand different experiments before he finally demonstrated the first working light bulb on October 21, 1879.

Who could ever imagine where we might be today if Thomas Edison had not persevered after ten thousand failures? It's OK to fail. From every failure come the seed of an even greater possible success.

Robert Schuller compares this process to a high jumper approaching the bar. If he/she always clears the bar, we really don't know how high that person can jump. It's only when they trip the bar that we have a true measure of their success.

Without failure, we can never grow to our full potential, Embrace failure as a legitimate step in the right direction.

Restlessness and discontent are the first necessities of progress."

"I have more respect for the fellow with a single idea who gets there than for the fellow with a thousand ideas who does nothing."

It's Really Important That I Feel Good

After writing my first post I realized that I should monitor my thoughts and feelings. I come to understand that whatever I think about that's what I'm attracting in my life. So, as of today I shall ask, believe and receive.
All those negative things that I used to think about of myself, as of today I change to positive, those negative thoughts that would come in my head when people look at me change to positive. I often had a feeling of lacking accomplishment, motivation and procrastination. So, I would feel uncomfortable, avoiding conversation, scared of not saying the right words as of today that ends. "I'm going to talk your ears off." I am a good mother, a good person, a good girlfriend, I have a mother that loves me and I have good friends.

As of today my life should be absolutely phenomenal and it will.

Why I'm Feeling Like This

It's almost the middle of April and the mortgage due date is coming up and still wondering what i
really should do. Whit two children, no job and boyfriend that work seasonally.

I've tried going back to school many times but always incapable to finish, even though it was always my desire. We often get so bog down in living our day to day lives. Reacting to the world around us that we begin to lose sight of our true desire. Although I could always find a job that doesn't require a big standard of education, but in this bad economy times no one seem to be hiring. I've tried lots of stay at home jobs even the ones on line, but to me, there are all waste of people's time. Furthermore, I'm at the age where I should not be wasting any more time.

So blogging about my feelings has become a fascinating pastime for me.
